Off-White and Alphatheta Corporation will begin selling the Pioneer DJ controller "DDJ-1000-OW" in limited quantities in Japan from July 16th via Alphatheta Corporation's direct sales site.
The creative drive of Off-White founder and creative director Virgil Abloh resonated with the pioneering DJ's desire to explore "the unity and harmony that music brings," and after repeated trial and error based on the concept of "SOUND ENGINEERING," the DDJ-1000-OW was completed.
In addition, to coincide with the release of the DDJ-1000-OW, Off-White will be releasing a capsule collection titled "SOUND ENGINEERING." The lineup includes a T-shirt (45,100 yen), long-sleeve T-shirt (49,500 yen), crew neck sweatshirt (75,900 yen), hoodie (82,500 yen), coach jacket (147,400 yen), fanny pack (108,900 yen), and cap (33,000 yen).
All items in the capsule collection feature the iconic PIONEER C/O VIRGIL ABLOH™ “SOUND ENGINEERING” YOKAHAMA ,JAPAN ©︎2021 logo silkscreened in fluorescent green ink. The graphic inspiration comes from technical files describing the inner workings of DJ controllers. Everything in the collection is crafted from cotton canvas, with the coach jacket featuring a special vintage treatment.
"Just like our previous collaboration, which saw the "TRANSPARENT" CDJ-2000NXS2 and "TRANSPARENT" DJM-900NXS2, I wanted to continue exploring new ways in which the interaction between music technology and humans can bring about different results. I believe that music and fashion share a unique power to connect people. This time, based on the concept of SOUND ENGINEERING, I was particularly conscious of that connection," says Virgil.
