Hotel New Otani (Tokyo) will open "GARDEN POOL," one of the largest outdoor pools of any hotel in Tokyo, from May 1st (Sat) to May 5th (Wednesday, national holiday), 2021, by advance reservation only.

Days of patience continue as the spread of COVID-19 continues. Although the state of emergency has been lifted, people are still hesitant to travel far away, let alone overseas, making it difficult to plan any big trips during the long weekend.


That's why Hotel New Otani will be opening its original resort pool, "GARDEN POOL," ahead of the summer. The pool will require advance reservations, limit the number of guests, and feature a two-part rotation system.


Surrounded by the greenery of a vast Japanese garden and the unobstructed, open blue sky, this space is an urban oasis that will help you forget the hustle and bustle of the city. During Golden Week, guests will be permitted to enter fully clothed, so you can relax poolside reading a book or sunbathe while your children play in the pool.

Safety measures only available through advance reservations


For 2021, GARDEN POOL will operate on a two-shift system requiring reservations for both overnight and non-stay guests. Thorough hygiene measures will be implemented, with the facility inspected and disinfected between shifts. In addition, the number of lockers, currently over 400 for men and women, will be reduced to half, to 200. Staff disinfect the changing rooms after each use, ensuring they are always clean.


What's more, guests can change in their rooms, making the pool even more comfortable.

Hotel New Otani is unique in that you can enjoy the hotel's authentic gourmet cuisine while wearing your swimsuit. Directly connected to the poolside, poolside dining "OUTRIGGER" on the upper deck offers a variety of university menus prepared by the hotel chef.


Also, this year, for the first time since the hotel opened, we will be offering a super sweets series, including the hotel's signature dessert, "Super Melon Shortcake."
