Photographer Ryan McGinley visits Japan, and will be holding a photoshoot with him at IMA on the 17th.

Apr 15, 2016

To celebrate photographer Ryan McGinley's visit to Japan, a photo event called "Ryan's Photo Booth" will be held at the IMA CONCEPT STORE in Roppongi, Tokyo, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on April 17th. Ryan McGinley is a photographer from Ramsey, New Jersey. His self-published work at age 22 garnered attention, leading to him becoming the youngest photographer to hold a solo exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art at age 25. He has previously held solo exhibitions at MoMA PS1 in New York, the Castilla y Leon Museum of Contemporary Art in Spain, and the Kunst Halle Wien in Austria. He has published collections of his work, including "You and I," "Ryan McGinley: Whistle for the WInd," and "Way Far." This event allows visitors to enter a photo booth and have their photo taken with Ryan McGinley. After 20 seconds, the photo will be autographed by Ryan McGinley and presented as a gift. Additionally, event participants who purchase Vol. 15 of the magazine "IMA" at the store on the day will also be able to take part in the autograph session. Applications for the event can be made on a first-come, first-served basis via the registration website (http://imaconceptstore.jp/ud/event/570ca91fabee7b7ccf000001).
