Giorgio Armani, whose designer is such a huge basketball fan, has released a leather sneaker inspired by basketball shoes.

The sneakers available this time come in two styles: one with a smooth leather upper and one with a suede leather upper. The smooth leather version uses luxurious leather with a beautiful luster. The contrast between the dressy upper and sole design is a distinctive feature of this shoe.

The thick sole, the result of years of research and development, is made from thermoplastic polyurethane. Inspired by basketball shoes, which are designed to withstand intense movements and landings after high jumps, these shoes are extremely lightweight, flexible, and comfortable to wear. The shape of the toe is also distinctive. The curved toe creates a graceful line that flows toward the sole. The construction is a stitch-down construction, where the leather upper is joined to the sole. A brown colorway is also available.

A version with a suede calfskin upper will also be released at the same time. It has a more casual impression than the smooth leather type and comes in bright colors that will make you feel the spring from your feet.

Sneakers tend to be considered a casual item, but Giorgio Armani frequently features sneakers at his new fashion shows held in Milan. A style like the one released this time, which combines a suede upper with a sneaker sole, was seen coordinated with a jacket style at a fashion show in 2017.
