The "992" is a commemorative model that was released in 2006, the year of New Balance's 100th anniversary. While based on the specifications of its predecessor, the 991, the shoe has been successfully updated in terms of functionality, with further improvements to the shock-absorbing material "ABZORB" and the adoption of "ABZORB SBS" in the heel midsole, which provides superior cushioning. Crafted without compromise by skilled artisans in the U.S.A., the shoe exudes a dignified heritage style and features a high-quality pigskin suede and ripstop upper for a rich texture.
