The film "A Perfumer of Paris: Searching for the Scent of Happiness" will be released nationwide from January 15, 2021, at Bunkamura Le Cinema, Human Trust Cinema Yurakucho, and other locations.

Set in Paris, the film follows the return of a female perfumer competing at the world's highest level.
With filming assistance from Dior, the film was supervised by Christine Nagel, Hermès' current in-house perfumer who has worked on many hit fragrances for Jo Malone!
In June of this year, on the first day cinemas in France reopened, the late-night advance premiere screening of the film was packed to capacity, exceeding the film's capacity. Amidst the excitement of quickly adding more screens, the film "Les Filmes Velvets," which went on to become the No. 1 box office hit in France, has finally been announced for release in Japan!

The protagonist is Anne, a genius perfumer who is inundated with requests from top fashion houses around the world. With a superior sense of smell, even living a normal life can be overwhelming, but once a perfume is completed, she is constantly under pressure as she is busy with launch parties, interviews, and press conferences, creating a glamorous battlefield.

The famous French actress Emmanuelle Devos (Violette, The Piano) charmingly plays Anne, a difficult yet lovable perfumer who has worked hard to survive in this world, and Gregory Montel (School's Out) plays her chauffeur Guillautem, who is Anne's good buddy and supports her despite her social awkwardness, with exquisite humor.

In order to depict the unknown world of a top perfumer, the major French house Dior cooperated in the filming. The film is also attracting attention for its supervision by Christine Nagel, who has worked on many hit fragrances for Jo Malone and is currently the exclusive perfumer for Hermès.

The released trailer begins with a turbulent meeting between Anne, once known as a genius perfumer, and Guillaume, a driver on the brink of bankruptcy. The trailer then shows Guillaume being at the mercy of Anne's selfishness, and then lightheartedly follows the two as they gradually come to recognize each other as work colleagues. The chic winter fashion worn by Emmanuelle Devos as Anne is also a highlight!

Anne is a genius perfumer who once created numerous masterpieces, including Dior's "J'Adore." However, four years ago, due to the pressure and busyness of her work, she suddenly lost her sense of smell, and lost both her status and her fame. Now that her sense of smell has returned, she lives quietly in a luxury Parisian apartment, shunning social interactions and taking only modest jobs at companies and government offices introduced to her by her agent.

She hires Guillaume, who is on the brink of collapse, as her driver. Although Anne is confused by her difficult personality, she takes a liking to him as he is the only one who speaks frankly, and little by little her closed-off heart begins to open up.

She also discovers that Guillaume has a talent for distinguishing smells, and the two begin to work together despite their clashes. Eventually, Anne develops a strong desire to "make perfume again," but she loses her sense of smell again...
