Academyhills, operated by Mori Building, will host "Roppongi Art College: An Exciting Future is Coming!" on November 24th, an event offering unlimited access to 20 art-related courses. Since its launch in 2011, the event has attracted 1,000 participants each year. It offers an opportunity to reflect on what art means to you. This year's theme is "The Future." Creative guests will share their ideas and explore the exciting possibilities of art for the future. From 11:20 to 12:20, creative director Koichiro Shima, known for launching the "Bookstore Awards," and graphic designer Rikako Nagashima, known for her work on Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week advertisements, will discuss the future of radio. The two will share their ideas on the question, "What would happen if we visualized radio?" From 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, a discussion will be held between Manabu Mizuno, the creative designer behind numerous hits such as "Kumamon," and Sawako Agawa, author of the best-selling book "The Power of Listening," on the topic of "The Close Relationship Between Communication and Design." From 2:50 PM to 3:50 PM, Noritaka Tatehana, the designer behind the "heelless shoes" beloved by Lady Gaga, will appear. These shoes were created by Tatehana as his graduation project at Tokyo University of the Arts, and were inspired by the high wooden clogs worn by courtesans. At the event, he will discuss his past activities, his thoughts on craftsmanship, and the future of fashion. Held simultaneously at a separate venue from Tatehana's event, Daito Manabe, active in the international media art scene, including his work on music videos and live performances for Perfume, will discuss "art of the near future" with Nao Tokui, an app developer based in the United States.
Other guests from a variety of fields are scheduled to appear, including artist Nawa Kohei, poet Tanikawa Shuntaro, and singer Hitoto Yo. Participants are being accepted on the "Roppongi Art College - An Exciting Future is Coming!" website until 18:00 on November 22nd.
