VICE Magazine holds photo exhibition showcasing collaborative works by Kim Gordon, Masaru Tatsuki, and Keiichi Nitta

Nov 15, 2013

A photo exhibition titled "GLOBAL PHOTO COLLABORATIONS by VICE JAPAN" will be held at the Diesel Art Gallery in Shibuya, Tokyo, for VICE MAGAZINE, a free magazine from Canada that distributes approximately 1.1 million copies in 25 countries worldwide. The exhibition will run from November 22nd to February 14th.

VICE MAGAZINE was launched in Montreal, Canada in 1994 by VICE, a global media outlet with operations in 35 cities around the world. It has garnered support for its sharp-tongued comments and unique editing, and its photo issue in particular is so popular that it disappears from the streets within days of its release.

The Japanese photo issue is themed around "artist collaboration," and features collaborations between in-the-moment photographers active around the world and artists from various fields. In addition to Kim Gordon, Roger Ballen, and Richard Kern, participants include up-and-coming young artists such as Sandy Kim, Asger Carlsen, and Arvida Byström, as well as Japanese artists such as Masaru Tatsuki, Jin Ohashi, KYOTARO, Keiichi Nitta, Shintaro Kago, and Motoyuki Daifu.

VICE also operates an online site (VICE.com), a music channel (Noisey), a global art project (the creators project), a technology channel (Motherboard), and a fighting channel (FIGHTLAND), and its official YouTube channel has garnered over 10 million views and over 80,000 subscribers in Japan in just nine months.
