"THE TOKYO HUNDREDS 2" - 100 pairs of portraits that compile a portrait of Harajuku
The core of this exhibition is an exhibit related to the photo book "THE TOKYO HUNDREDS 2 “Portraits of Harajuku” Directed by NEIGHBORHOOD / 30th Anniversary Issue" (by Nagahama Osamu), published to commemorate the 30th anniversary. The venue will display 100 pairs of portraits featured in the book, creating a three-dimensional depiction of the "face" of the street that has spread with Harajuku as its axis.

On the all-black walls, enlarged portraits of artists from across the fields of music, art, and design, including Tachi Hiroshi, Eric Clapton, Noda Yojiro, VERDY, Nagase Tomoya, Inaba Koshi, Dr. Woo, Katayama Masamichi, and YOSHIROTTEN, are lined up, telling the story of the depth of Harajuku culture that transcends generations and genres.

A return to the brand's roots
A space recreating the store's original appearance will also be set up within the venue. Graphics and items from that time evoke the "initial impulse" of NEIGHBORHOOD, which rose from the backstreets of Harajuku. This is a unique highlight, allowing you to relive the brand's DNA with your own physical senses. Additionally, six popular varieties of NEIGHBORHOOD's iconic ceramic incense holder, the "Incense Chamber", have been updated to larger sizes. The brand's editorial skill, transforming everyday items into objets d'art, vividly brings to light the brand's unique worldview and playful spirit.

NEIGHBORHOOD
Since its founding in Harajuku in the 1990s by Shinsuke Takizawa, the brand's unique style, which combines motorcycles, military, and the outdoors, has transcended fashion to influence urban culture. The 30th anniversary exhibition attempts to trace its history and spirit from its starting point in "Harajuku." It offers a celebratory look at NEIGHBORHOOD's current state, where the city, its people, its products, and its lifestyles resonate with one another.
