On autumn mornings when the temperature starts to become more comfortable, her routine is to run along nearby greenways and parks. She's also such a big music lover that she attends dozens of music festivals each year.
We asked Iwasaki about her experience using Spotify's new service, "Soundtrack Your Workout." This article features app-exclusive content. We'll introduce some of it! The second half of the article also features an original playlist created by Iwasaki! Be sure to check it out.
Spotify's "Soundtrack Your Workout"
Refresh your mind and body with your own personalized playlist for your workout!

Iwasaki always listens to music when she runs. This time, we had participants use Spotify's new service, "Soundtrack Your Workout," to run while listening to a playlist selected to match their mood and condition that day.

First, they answered some simple questions, such as the type of workout they wanted (running, yoga, cycling, walking, etc.), the time it would take, the mood they wanted to feel, who they would exercise with, and their favorite music genre.

Then, when you sync with your Spotify account, a playlist will be automatically created based on your personal preferences, perfect for background music during your upcoming workout.

Iwasaki's recommended song is Anderson .Paak's "CUT 'EM IN." He became a fan of this artist after seeing them perform live while he was in Los Angeles for work, and he loves them so much that he even went to Fuji Rock and their shows in Japan.

"It was a really enjoyable playlist, with a mix of songs I listen to regularly and ones I'd never heard before. I was surprised to see my favorite, Anderson .Paak, as the first song (laughs). Overall, there were many songs that matched the tempo of running, making it easy to run. I didn't lose rhythm and it was a very enjoyable run. I would definitely recommend this to anyone just starting to exercise or who's bored with their current playlist." (Iwasaki)
It's important to keep exercising. Make your workout more enjoyable and sustainable with the power of music.

Iwasaki started running seriously five years ago. While continuing her training, on days when she feels unmotivated or tired, she uses the power of music to make her workout more enjoyable.

"When I'm running, I sometimes listen to songs with positive lyrics or that get me pumped, and the music pushes me to go a little harder!"
