The Flower Art Award 2015 in Tokyo Midtown, the selection process for Japan's representative in an international floral art competition held in France, will be held in the Galleria atrium at Tokyo Midtown from April 22nd to 26th.
The Art Floral International Competition, held in Douai-la-Fontaine, one of France's leading rose-producing regions, is an art competition known as a gateway to success for flower designers. Leading floral artists from eight countries around the world will gather to create a gigantic artwork using 1,000 fresh roses in a cavernous space over 8 meters high. In 2014, a work by a Japanese artist won the Grand Prix.
The Flower Art Award 2015 in Midtown, which will determine the participants in this competition, is accepting submissions with a Japanese sensibility based on the theme of "ZEN," in reference to the "wa" (harmony) architectural concept of Tokyo Midtown. The venue will feature a collection of large-scale floral art works that comply with the rules of between 100 and 500 fresh roses and a height of up to 2m 90cm.
The announcement and award ceremony for the best work will be held on April 24th. In conjunction with the awards, there will also be a rose arrangement competition and a flower display in a showcase.
