Olivia Wilde's directorial debut, "Booksmart," which depicts the chaos that ensues one night when a pair of high school girls make their debut at a party, will be released nationwide on August 21st.

Olivia Wilde, the actress known for "Her" and "Richard Jewell," makes a brilliant transition into film direction under the executive production of Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, known for the "Vice" series.

This bold and powerful coming-of-age comedy, a hit at the SXSW Film Festival, swept numerous film awards. The film, which was directed, written and starred entirely by women, has also garnered rave reviews and support from celebrities such as Taylor Swift and Natalie Portman, sparking excitement across the US.

The main characters are Molly (Beanie Feldstein) and Amy (Kaitlyn Dever), who have been studying hard during their high school years, treating them as a springboard for a bright future. What makes this film unique is that these girls, who are academically gifted but ranked low on the school hierarchy, are portrayed not as geeky high school girls but as witty, sharp-tongued characters with a strong curiosity about love and sex. Amy comes out as queer from the beginning, and there's no conflict about it. The writers of Rebel Wilson's Netflix film "Isn't It Romantic?" have created multifaceted characters, eliminating stereotypes of appearance and taste, and Olivia Wilde, making her feature-length directorial debut, has brought them together in a fresh way. By having all the characters, not just the lead character Molly, speak realistic lines, the film's mere 1 hour and 42 minutes feels like a condensed version of their high school lives.

A crazy one-night adventure brings all the characters to their senses, and after a burst of laughter, the film leaves them feeling nostalgic about the time that has passed and a glimpse of the beauty of the future that awaits them. Enjoy the film while feeling nostalgic, reminiscing, and reminiscing about irreplaceable youth.
