Opening footage of the film "LETO"
Rock 'n' roll against the brunt of restrictive regulations! Don't miss the teaser movie, which conveys the quietly burning passion of rebellion among young people who love music. The opening footage captures a lively, energetic rock concert and young music lovers, contrasting with the restrictive conditions of the Soviet Union in the early 1980s. The video begins with a group of young women sneaking into a live venue. The chant "Let's go!", along with the sounds of rehearsal, signal the beginning of a story and heighten the viewer's sense of anticipation. Furthermore, the long take that follows the women not only conveys the immersive atmosphere of a live performance, but also stimulates the viewer's sense of sight and sound with the gradually growing music, the dazzling spotlight, and the pounding guitar vocals, drawing the viewer into the "world of the film."

The film also features a scene in which the audience sits quietly and watches the live performance while lively rock music blares throughout the air. This represents the situation at the time. The Soviet Union in the early '80s was hostile to rock music and Western influences, but at the same time, a growing number of young people were drawn to rock music. The footage symbolizes this conflict, with Soviet officials frowning at provocative lyrics and scolding audience members swaying to the music.

Director Kirill Serebrennikov, who directed this film, was drawn to the purity, innocence, and rebellious spirit of these music-loving people who sought to incorporate a new wave of rock into this climate.

"I'm making this film for a generation that sees freedom as a personal choice, a choice they can make. My goal is to capture and emphasize the value of this freedom."

■LETO - Synopsis
The story is set in the early 1980s. In Soviet-era Leningrad, where Western (capitalist) culture was taboo, underground rock, influenced by Western rock stars like L. Zeppelin and T. Rex, was beginning to flourish. One day, Victor (Yoo Teo), who dreams of becoming a rock star, visits Mike (Roman Bilyk), the leader of Zoopark, a band that was at the forefront of this movement. Mike discovers his talent and they begin working together on musical projects. Meanwhile, a faint love begins to blossom between Mike's wife, Natasha (Irina Strashenbaum), and Victor.
