Fashion designer Charlotte Ronson was born on August 7, 1977, in London, England. She was born in London to a real estate agent and a writer, and grew up in New York. Her brother is music producer Mark Ronson, and her twin sister is DJ Samantha Ronson. She began designing after a friend noticed her fashion, which incorporated vintage items, and asked her to create a piece. After graduating from New York University, she worked as an editor for magazines such as Harper's Bazaar and Rolling Stone, before working as a designer for Cynthia Rowley. In 2000, she founded her own brand, C. Ronson, and her 1970s-inspired pieces became popular. In 2002, she opened a flagship store in New York. In 2005, she partnered with Japan's San-A International to launch the brand Charlotte Ronson, which debuted at the New York Collection the following year. She still presents her collections in New York.
In recent years, she has released collaborative products with major American mass retailers Urban Outfitters and J.C. Penney.
