Dior Men's Artistic Director Kim Jones has collaborated with Ghanaian-born, Vienna-based artist Amoako Boafo. The two first met at the Rubell Museum in Miami in 2019 and it was truly love at first sight, an artistic experience that has led to this collaboration, fuelled by a deep admiration for each other's work.
Amoako Boafo's work, exploring and mixing diverse cultures and techniques to explore his own identity and perceptions of Blackness, particularly Black masculinity, is translated into garments that eloquently speak to the techniques and history of haute couture.

The silhouettes are slim and flowing, inspired by sportswear, but with the impeccable tailoring of a couture house, highlighting the unexpected connection between a contemporary artist and Dior's heritage.

Created at the intersection of contemporary art and documentary, the Dior Men's Summer 2021 collection is now unveiled in a two-part video.
The first part was edited and soundtracked by video artist Chris Cunningham and shot in London and Boafo's atelier in Ghana.

And the second part, directed by Jackie Nickerson, unveiled the creation of Kim Jones.
