Isetan Shinjuku is hosting a special exhibition, "Girls' Songs," produced by Paruko, at the Center Park/TOKYO Liberation Zone on the second floor of the main building until July 7th. The exhibition features songs by the artist duo "Sayonara Ponytail" that express "girls' feelings," and also introduces fashion items inspired by the songs. For the exhibition, Sayonara Ponytail has written two songs that express the conflict between the naive, dreamy, romantic feelings of an "ordinary girl" and her assertive, selfish, and realistic feelings, and the two are intertwined. "Super Star" has a nostalgic yet fresh sound, while "Kawaii Ano Ko" has an unsettling yet tug-at-the-heart sound. The members of "Sayonara Ponytail" no longer exist; instead, the group's activities are conducted through social media. The group is comprised of 12 people, including five vocalists, and is also active as a manga artist. The venue will feature a special tote bag (with audio, ¥5,000) featuring the unit's illustrations, as well as clothing, miscellaneous goods, and accessories by cutting-edge designers, featuring embroidery and other techniques that express the feelings of "girls." "STASTNY SU" subtly adorns blouses and dresses with opal processing and flower-motif buttons and embroidery, expressing the delicate and fragile nature of girls. Items on sale include a pressed lily of the valley dress (¥29,000), a blouse (¥23,000), and a star bird ribbon-tied bag (¥6,600).
"Spoken Words Project" creates a gentle atmosphere while showcasing artistic designs that stimulate creativity, introducing blouses (31,000 yen), skirts (25,000 yen), pouches (from 2,000 yen), and day bags (13,000 yen). "Aoki Yuri" will sell earrings (from 3,000 yen to 10,000 yen) and necklaces (from 10,000 yen to 25,000 yen), focusing on cotton pearl ear cuffs.
"SINA SUIEN", created by designer Yumiko Arimoto, features delicate hand-embroidered pieces that encapsulate a fragile yet powerful worldview. The lineup includes Tanabata-inspired items such as a galaxy dress (95,000 yen), a stardust dress (96,000 yen), a stardust flared skirt (65,000 yen), a space bag (200,000 yen), and a Milky Way bag (380,000 yen).
Other participating brands include YUKI FUJISAWA, malamute, futatsukukuri, proef, YOSHIKO, nooca, and Mizuiro Toshiro. A promotional video for "Goodbye Ponytail," directed by Maki Taguchi and starring Emma Maeda, is playing on a monitor at the venue's entrance.
The same event will also be held at The Stage 3 on the 3rd floor of JR Kyoto Isetan (from July 29th to August 4th) and at Space #2 on the 2nd floor of the main building of Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store (from August 19th to 24th).
