Gucci has once again collaborated with artist Yuko Higuchi to present the "Yuko Higuchi Children's Collection." In addition to releasing Japan-exclusive items and gift items, the brand will also be hosting the pop-up Gucci Pin shop in its Ginza and Nagoya stores until June 28th.

The "Yuko Higuchi Children's Collection" is a capsule collection for the Fall/Winter 2020 season. The dreamlike worldview and poetic spirit that permeates it are some of the defining characteristics of Gucci today, and are also shared by Yuko Higuchi's unique work. This synergy has brought Gucci and Higuchi together for the first time on the Spring/Summer 2018 Children's Collection. Now, a new collaboration has been realized for the Fall/Winter 2020 Children's Collection.

Once again, the setting is Higuchi's playful fantasy world. New characters include anthropomorphic animals and mysterious creatures, such as a cat holding a medal, a mouse carrying an umbrella with a baby mouse in a sling slung over its shoulder, and a rabbit wearing an apron and carrying a baby cat in a tin can. These fantastical characters and motifs adorn a wide variety of items, from various baby wear and goods to boys' and girls' dresses, sweatshirts, T-shirts, skirts, jackets, overalls, shirts, shoes, bags, scarves, baseball caps, jumpsuits, and even gift sets (jumpsuits and hats). All items feature Higuchi's unique illustrations, and some designs incorporate tie-dye.

In addition, there will be a number of Japan-exclusive items, including items with special prints available only in Japan. For babies, the range includes a zip-up jacket, a short-sleeved dress with a flower and bee print, a floral print cardigan with a cat print on the back, and a short-sleeved T-shirt with an embroidered cat patch on the front and the GUCCI logo printed around it.

For boys and girls, the range includes a hooded zip-up jacket with a cat print on the back, a sleeveless dress with an all-over flower and bee print, a long-sleeved sweatshirt with a fox print on the front, and a short-sleeved T-shirt with an embroidered leopard patch on the front and the GUCCI logo printed around it.

Two tote bags and a belt bag will also be available as Japan-exclusive accessories. One features a cat and flower-print canvas with yellow patent leather trim, while the other is a tote bag made of GG Supreme canvas with a colorful fireworks-like star print and bright hibiscus red trim, and a belt bag with the same design will also be available. Both prints are original motifs created by Higuchi specifically for these Japan-exclusive items.

Other Japan-exclusive items in the lineup include scarves for boys and girls, baby bibs, handkerchiefs, and two types of terrycloth blankets. Three unique gift items featuring motifs by Yuko Higuchi will also be available. The lineup includes two notebooks of different sizes: one with a procession of animals on the cover against a blue and beige striped background studded with black stars, and another with the same animals on a pink checkered background with floral motifs. A cylindrical tin music box featuring tree people (anthropomorphic trees) and ocean waves against a thin pink candy stripe background will also be released. Special packaging will also be available for this occasion. Higuchi's unique artwork is printed on the box, shopping bag, pouch, and hard envelope. The inside of the box and paper bag are colored in a bright red, and the tissue paper used to wrap the product is the same red.

Gucci Ginza and Gucci Nagoya are hosting the fourth installment of the limited-time shop Gucci Pin, "Gucci Pin Higuchi Yuko Children's Collection," from May 15th to June 28th. Face-in panels have appeared in the enchanting forest where the characters live, allowing visitors to experience the feeling of being lost in a scene from the story.
