Dolce & Gabbana presented their Spring/Summer 2016 men's collection in Milan on June 20th. This season's inspiration came from Palazzo Cinese, a palace designed in the late 18th century in Palermo, Sicily, Italy. The collection reflected unique ornamentation and exoticism influenced by the Chinoiserie style, a style popular since the late 17th century. Starting with a double-breasted suit in the first look, the collection included kung fu-inspired jackets, coats, blousons, oversized sweatshirts, and gowns, all adorned with motifs of dragons, peacocks, flowers, lanterns, and cacti, as well as prints and embroidery in oriental tones. From the middle to the latter half of the show, the spirit of Sicily, designer Domenico Dolce's hometown, was infused throughout. The cheerful Western culture represented by vibrant orange and lemon prints blended well with Eastern culture, establishing a new ethnic identity.
For the finale, 102 models marched in polo shirts with different designs, putting on a spectacular performance.
