In a world where free travel has become difficult, it is the power of creation that brings joy and hope to our daily lives as we encounter the unknown. The 18th installment of FASHION HEADLINE's creator series, "Our Fashion Story," features Bottega Veneta.


In his Winter 2023 show, the final show of his "Italian" trilogy, Bottega Veneta's Creative Director, Mathieu Blazy, continues to celebrate and fuse the country's past, present, and future through "Craft in Motion." In this parade, techniques and motifs from the past, characters from paintings, and creatures from the past transcend time and space, speaking to the present and future. A cacophony of influences, both animate and inanimate, creates a polyphony.

The parade is a place where priests and playboys, sleepwalkers and street courtesans, beauties of the silver screen and ancient sea sirens roam. Above all, it's a place where you can experience the joy of dressing up, the joy of personal connection, and the confidence that clothing can transform you into the person you want to be.

"I loved the idea of Italian parades—processions, mysterious carnivals. A multitude of people appear from nowhere and somehow fit together, heading in the same direction. I wanted to explore why people gather in a place where everyone can participate, regardless of class."

Today, we present "BOTTEGA VENETA x Protean," a fashion story by photographer Hidenobu Kasahara from Bottega Veneta's Winter 2023 collection, based on the theme of "moving freely and traveling from the everyday to the extraordinary."
