The "327" was born from inspiration in three models that represent New Balance's running shoes from the 1970s - the "320," "355," and "Super Comp." It incorporates the iconic design and details of each model and rearranges those elements. While based on New Balance's heritage, it has been reconstructed into a modern and fresh model. The first wave, released in early May, has already sold out. The second wave, a new colorway, will be released on June 6th.

The "327," born from inspiration in three models that represent New Balance running shoes from the 1970s, has a retro feel but is characterized by a fresh design never before seen in New Balance. The use of nylon material, rolled-up outsole at the toe and heel, and rugged outsole design create a retro image, while the presence of the oversized N logo and the flared midsole give the entire shoe a modern, new silhouette that looks fresh from any angle.
■Three retro running shoes that served as design inspiration
The "320," the model that first established the "N logo" design that is symbolic of New Balance, was the cutting-edge running shoe of its time, winning first place in the US magazine "Runner's World" in 1976. Featuring a stable heel cup, forefoot cushioning, and width sizing, this model quickly elevated New Balance's presence in the running world. It was also the first to feature a women's-specific last.

This off-road model is considered New Balance's original trail running model. This model marks the beginning of the 500 series, designed for running on unpaved roads other than tracks.
