Global fitness brand Reebok will release the collaborative model "Reebok x Chromat Zig Kinetica," which was first unveiled at the New York Fashion Week 2020 Spring/Summer Collection, on May 22, 2020.

■About "Reebok x Chromat"
This collaboration is based on the "ZIG KINETICA" model, which was launched in November 2019. The design of this model features bold coloring inspired by the deep sea and space exploration, and an upper has been developed that is not only functional but also visually appealing. The three energy systems of the "ZIG" are combined with a vibrant upper to create a distinctive, three-dimensional silhouette.

Known for their unique swimwear and dresses that focus on the human body and technology, Chromat aimed to develop a design that evokes a world shaped by gender, beliefs, and human evolution for this collaboration. To that end, they collaborated with Pussykrew, a Polish designer and CGI artist duo based in New York, to create this model.

■About Chromat
Founded in 2010 by Becca McCharen-Tran, Chromat is a swimwear and bodywear brand. Exploring the intersection of architecture, fashion, and technology, Chromat develops body-conscious, innovative designs and apparel made with cutting-edge technical fabrics. Currently, the brand is co-created and designed in New York and Miami by a multidisciplinary team of creators, including artists, scientists, and choreographers.

■About ZIG KINETICA
Reebok has previously released shoes equipped with unique, innovative technologies, including the "Instapump Fury," which uses air to adjust the fit. The original "ZIG," which debuted as a running shoe in 2009, was dubbed "doping shoes" (=foul play) because the zigzag shape of the outsole generated high propulsion, and boasted such high performance that the shoes were banned from certain marathon events. "ZIG KINETICA" was launched in November 2019 as an updated model based on the "ZIG," combining high functionality and fashion. To date, the company has released a series of collaborative models with popular artists, garnering attention, including collaborations with Ian Paley, Kenzo Minami, Reebok eightyone designed by VAINL ARCHIVE designer Kohei Okita, and BILLIONAIRE BOYS CLUB (BBC), a popular apparel brand led by Pharrell Williams, which were so popular they sold out immediately after release.

The high rebound and propulsion that are characteristic of the ZIG KINETICA come from the unique "ZIG Energy System", which has a three-layer structure combining Floatride Fuel (high-rebound foam), Energy Shell, and Energy Band outsole, which reduces energy loss in forward propulsion. In addition, the zigzag outsole not only provides excellent cushioning, but also opens up at 13 degrees, further amplifying forward propulsion.
