L'arcobaleno, a highly acclaimed brand known for its high-quality Italian leather goods, will be releasing its second collaboration with fashion model Makiko Takizawa.

The first collaboration items, released in July 2022, immediately sold out. The highly anticipated second collaboration items will be available for pre-sale on the L'arcobaleno online shop from July 25th, and will then be available at the L'arcobaleno Kiyosumi Shirakawa store and the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building, 1st floor, Miscellaneous Goods/Isetan Seed, from July 26th. The collaboration items sold in the first wave were based on L'arcobaleno's classic collection, and were created with color schemes and materials that made use of Takizawa's particular attention to detail and high sense. However, for the second wave, as he wanted to design the products himself from scratch, he will be releasing two new models not previously available in L'arcobaleno, as well as three types of iPhone cases, which sold out immediately in the first wave.

"To further enhance the experience for those who purchased the iPhone case, mini wallet, and key case sold in the first wave, I wanted to create a matching color shoulder-strap smartphone case with a wallet and a pouch that can also be attached to the case and carry minimal makeup tools," says Takizawa. The shoulder pouch can hold a smartphone, bills, coins, and cards all in one place, and features an envelope-style storage case on the front. The designer focused on creating a design that would suit any occasion or outfit. The compact multi-pouch underwent multiple prototypes until it was perfect, eventually being perfected as an item that can be hooked onto the shoulder pouch. It's useful for storing small cosmetics like lipstick, as well as accessories you want to carry with you at all times, like smart keys, cards, and parking tickets.
"For this collaboration, we focused on creating a unified look for the three models on sale and making them appealing to everyone. By attaching the multi-pouch to the shoulder pouch containing your smartphone, you can use it for short trips as well as short outings. I think we've created something that was always there, but never existed."

The "edge," an essential element of L'arcobaleno's meticulous craftsmanship, follows Takizawa's particular white color. Normally, the edges are all finished in black, but since the first release was able to express a soft and refreshing atmosphere, and we wanted to maintain an affinity with the first release items, we decided to use white edges for the second release as well.

As with the previous collaboration, for this one too, navy and gray, two colors that Takizawa lists as his "favorite colors," have been specially ordered from Alran, the leather tannery used by L’arcobaleno. The first release used enamel leather from Alran, mixed with goat leather, a staple material for L'arcobaleno, but for the second release, based on Takizawa's wish for a "simpler and chicer" look, only goat leather was used, resulting in a sophisticated finish. For the second release, the navy and grey will be sold in colors named "MIDNIGHT" and "ASPHALT," respectively, both of which were named by Takizawa himself. :7/25(水)18:00~ Larcobaleno Online Shop
