Fusing Western Design with Japanese Aesthetics
The Gate Hotel Kyoto Takasegawa by HULIC's "Schoolhouse Building," renovated from the Rissei Elementary School building, which opened in the late Taisho Era, features a guest room wing where the atmosphere of new and old intersect, retaining the budding culture of modern architecture and the original design of the elementary school. The hotel offers a lineup of 20 original guest rooms in five types, including "Suite," a special space where you can experience the four seasons and atmosphere of Takasegawa; "Grace," which retains the atmosphere of a former classroom with high ceilings and large windows; and "Lab," where you can sleep in a world of art.

The modern and warm spatial design is great. "Grace" - A room that evokes the design of the old school building.
With high ceilings and large, open windows, you can spend an eternal time in a room that retains the atmosphere of the old classrooms.
The "Lab" guest room features an installation of works by Kyoto's leading artists, sculptor Raku Masaomi, and planter Murase Takaaki (image is for illustrative purposes only).

In addition, the "Jikyoshitsu" room, which was used by Rissei Elementary School to teach morals and etiquette, has been reborn as an important symbol. This large hall, with 60 tatami mats, has long been a space that has nurtured the spirit of "Rissei = being kind to others and not deceiving others."
The hotel will offer guests a place called the "Retreat Room" where they can escape their daily lives, rediscover themselves, and discover a new self (i.e., retreat). As a unique space where you can transcend time and space and feel the breath of the past, it will also be used as a space for truly "adult" experiences, hosting interactive events, and as a place for interaction between the town and guests.
