The wardrobe of Ferragamo's Pre-Fall 2023 collection is defined by an effortless sensibility. Minimal silhouettes, clean cuts, and versatile denim pieces are infused with the spirit of American Western. Maximillian Davis subtly incorporates the essence of 1920s design, from denim, gingham prints, belt bags, loafers to pocket details, based on the historical fact that founder Salvatore Ferragamo created cowboy boots for the 1923 film "The Covered Wagon."

"I wanted to explore contemporary clothing essentials, from evening wear to denim. I wanted to take classic pieces from the everyday wardrobe and twist them with textures and materials, to make them more modern, playful and unexpected, and to subvert conventional notions." Maximillian Davis's vision is expressed in the Pre-Fall 2023 campaign, where all the elements of the new Ferragamo coexist seamlessly.

Photographed by photographer Tyler Mitchell, the campaign images offer a fresh and immersive look at Ferragamo's modern yet timeless world. "Tyler is one of the creatives I grew up with. We come from the same community and have always talked about collaborating," says Maximillian Davis. "There's a simplicity and elegance to his work and his interpretation of people, a laid-back clarity that never forces anything."

In that spirit, Hollywood glamour is reinterpreted with modern ease. A minimalist bustier dress is rendered in gold-foiled eel skin, while Maximilian Davis reinterprets the rainbow sandals originally designed for Judy Garland in 1938. Bags with cutout details and new leather inner bags, as well as the Wanda bag in seasonal colors, appear throughout the collection as timeless items that symbolize a new era for Ferragamo, bringing a sense of unity to the brand's worldview.
