The Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse had planned to hold "Seven Patterns Garden ~FLOWER GARDEN 2020~," a garden themed around "Japanese Modern" that would bring the coming of spring with approximately 20,000 flowers, for a total of 24 days from April 3rd to April 26th. However, due to the temporary closure of the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse in response to the government's state of emergency declaration, the event was canceled.

The event first took place in April 2007 to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse's reopening. The spectacle of colorful flowers blooming in the plaza overlooking the sea was well received, and the event has since been held every year with a different theme. Now in its 14th year, the event will be held in collaboration with Yokohama City's Garden Necklace Yokohama 2020, which is being held at the same time, to further liven up the spring scenery of Yokohama, overflowing with flowers and greenery.
This year's theme is "Japanese Modern," and seven areas will be created inspired by traditional Japanese patterns known as "patterns." Each pattern has its own meaning, and has been used since ancient times to bring good luck and to express wishes for happiness: "Tachiwaku" (standing wave) for happiness and prosperity, "Uroko" (scale) for rebirth, "Seigaiha" (wave pattern) for a peaceful life, "Shippo" (shippo) for harmony, prosperity, and good fortune, "Kikko" (tortoise shell) for longevity, "Ichimatsu" (checkerboard) for prosperity, and "Rishi" (diamond) for children's health.

The venue uses not only traditional Japanese plants such as weeping peaches and bamboo, but also Western flowers to create patterns. Passing through a gate lined with lanterns decorated with scale patterns, colorful tortoiseshell-shaped flower beds appear on either side, and bamboo art on both sides creates a modern atmosphere. Going further in, you will find the rare weeping peach tree enshrined as the event's symbol tree, an area inspired by a river with blue nemophila flowers, and a "Kazaguruma Wall" covered in Kazaguruma flowers, creating a view that will make you want to take photos. The venue is lit up at night, allowing you to enjoy a different side to the daytime.
Laline (Building 2, 1st floor) "Japan-exclusive Cherry Blossom Body Care Items" (various items starting from 1,980 yen including tax)

During the event, shops in the building will also be running event-related campaigns. Goods and food with spring colors and flower motifs will be on sale.
Why not feel the arrival of spring in a space that expresses the wish for happiness?
