The "Mademoiselle Privé" exhibition unravels the source of Chanel's creativity. This artistic collaboration, which came to fruition to commemorate the occasion, is the result of a meeting between Sofia Coppola and Virginie Viard, Artistic Director of Chanel Fashion Collections. The multifaceted and refreshing video, "In homage to Mademoiselle," expresses a new creative dialogue between her and Chanel.
Comprised of photographs and footage from the archives, as well as advertising visuals and film footage, the video captures Chanel's creations, including haute couture, the Chanel N⅓ fragrance, and high jewelry, including BIJOUX DE DIAMANTS, from a contemporary perspective. Infinitely feminine yet rhythmically vibrant, the video reflects Sofia Coppola's unique perspective and style, just like Chanel's legendary creations to date. Sofia Coppola's story with Chanel began when French actress Carole Bouquet introduced the young Sofia to Karl Lagerfeld, who then offered her an internship at the Chanel Creation Studio. "I used what Coco created and what Karl and Virginie have inherited to capture the essence of Chanel. This collage, created from the Chanel archives, expresses Coco's modern vision for the modern woman. Chanel represents chic Parisian style, but I added a playful touch, just like Karl did in his own collections. It was a joyous experience to explore so many beautiful collections and the history of this iconic woman," says Sofia.
