Last year, Lucien Pellat-Finet released a collaboration item featuring original hand-embroidered designs by embroidery artist MU-megumu Yamamoto on the marinière (Basque shirt), a new basic item.

MU-megumu Yamamoto creates each and every piece by hand, continuing to convey her unique worldview. She is a rare artist who has been praised across various fields, particularly for her series of collages of icons of the times.

This collaboration came about because both companies share the same sustainable philosophy: "Take care of your own favorite piece of clothing and wear it for a long time, and don't throw things away or waste things, which ultimately leads to environmental protection."

Basque shirts are typically cut and sewn, but lucien pellat-finet uses a fully fashioned method, where each shirt is carefully knitted by directly increasing or decreasing the stitches according to the pattern, and the knitted pieces are then linked together to form the finished product. The result is a French-style design that exudes a touch of luxury within a casual style. This marinière (Basque shirt), crafted with meticulous craftsmanship, is combined with embroidered motifs that are carefully sewn stitch by stitch to create a limited-edition collaboration item of 20 pieces.

This collaboration item will be available at the Lucien Pellat-Finet Tokyo Midtown store from March 24, 2023.
