The Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 has selected the artists to create the official art posters for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games as part of the "Tokyo 2020 Official Art Poster Project".

Naoki Urasawa (Manga artist)
Eleven artists have created works themed around the Olympics. The winners are manga artist Naoki Urasawa, painter Shinro Ohtake, graphic designer Daijiro Ohara, calligrapher Shoko Kanazawa, artist Tomoko Konoike, graphic designer Taku Sato, visual artist Asao Tokolo, photographer Takashi Homma, art director Theseus Chan, photographer Viviane Sassen, and artist Philippe Weisbecker. Eight artists have been selected for works themed around the Paralympics: manga artist Hirohiko Araki, calligrapher Koji Kakinuma, graphic designer GOO CHOKI PAR, artist Tomoyuki Araki, visual artist Asao Tokolo, photographer and film director Mika Ninagawa, visual artist Chihiro Mori, and painter Akira Yamaguchi.

The official art posters are commissioned from artists both in Japan and abroad to create works of art themed around the Olympic or Paralympic Games, which will be used as posters for the Tokyo 2020 Games.

Since the early 20th century, the organizing committees of each Olympic Games have produced them to promote awareness and understanding of the Olympic Games as a sporting and cultural event. They also play a role in communicating the unique features of each event to the world, and in recent years, internationally renowned artists and designers have been hired to create works that will serve as the cultural and artistic legacy of each event, including posters for the Paralympics. Some of these works have become icons of the era.
