DELVAUX, the luxury leather goods maison that is a purveyor to the Belgian Royal Family, has collaborated with the Magritte Foundation to release the new "Magritte Collection," a tribute to the work of painter René Magritte, on May 15th.
The collection consists of bags and other leather goods that pay homage to Magritte's famous paintings, including "The Man in the Bowler Hat," "The Promise," "The Lovers," and "Golconda." Each detail, such as the handles that evoke the outline of Magritte's bowler hat, the lining of "Golconda," and the keyhole motif carved into the leather, embodies the surrealist spirit expressed by Magritte. The D-Off bag is the collection's most iconic bag, and a men's line will be released this fall.
The trompe l'oeil spirit is reflected in the travel wallets and pouches, which are available in a color palette of noir, navy, ivory, ciel, and nude.
