The Melon Bread Festival, where melon bread from all over the country gathers together, will be held for the first time in two years!

Melon Bread Fest 2019, bringing together melon bread from all over Japan, will be held on May 4th and 5th in the gymnasium on the second floor of 3331 Arts Chiyoda.



This is Japan's largest Melon Bread Fest, bringing together over 20 types of melon bread from all over the country. It has been held four times so far, and the last time it attracted over 2,000 people and sold approximately 9,000 melon breads. This year's event, which will be held for the first time in two years, will be themed around "Detour Consumption," and will feature a selection of melon bread from all over the country, from the usual plain melon bread to more unusual varieties such as melon bread bagels, cabbage melon bread, and braised pork melon bread.


"Braised Pork Melon Bread" in collaboration with Bonjour Bon, a popular Tokyo shop known for its maple melon bread.
This unique bread consists of braised pork seasoned with sansho pepper and miso, wrapped in melon skin mixed with cheese.

Participating stores range from Tokyo bakeries such as salut!! (Bakery Salut!!) in Yoga, Chez Kazama in Hanzomon, HIGU BAGEL&CAFE in Itabashi Honmachi, Boulangerie Auvergne in Tateishi, Bonjour Bon in Nakano, Masuya Shoten in Toritsu Daigaku, La Base Secréte du GAMIN in Sangenjaya, Nemo Bakery & Cafe in Musashi-Koyama, Boulangerie Arrow in Fudomae, and Mont Thabeau in Azabu-Juban, to regional bakeries such as Pan Kobo Billion in Aomori, Gourmand Marce in Gifu, Taisho Bakery in Kyoto, Fukuyama Bakery in Kumamoto, Yamaguchi Confectionery Shop, Peter Pan, and Oyatsu Pan Trois in Chiba, Kawagoe Bakery Rakuraku in Saitama, and Boulangerie La Ouffe in Kanagawa.



The venue will also feature an exhibition booth where everyday items will be converted into units of melon bread, as well as a talk show and a melon bread brooch embroidery workshop. Original goods and collaborative melon bread will also be sold at the souvenir booth.
