The long-awaited third edition of "Offline PhotoBook Shop," a pop-up event bringing together art book, book, and photography lovers, has moved from Tokyo to Kyoto and will be held at Keibunsha Ichijoji store "COTTAGE" from May 1st to 4th.

This photo book pop-up event has been held since 2017 and is organized by flotsam books, an online-only bookstore, and twelvebooks, which handles domestic distribution and coordination of overseas photo books and other publications. (Strictly speaking, this is an event that has been held independently by flotsam books since 2014)

This time, the event will be held at COTTAGE, the Keibunsha Ichijoji store, a bookstore located in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto, closest to Ichijoji Station, where a variety of books with the theme of "DIG" will be sold at sale prices. Additionally, Kyoto-based publisher AKAAKA Art Publishing has been invited as a guest book seller, with photographer Ryuichi Ishikawa's "OUTREMER / Ultramarine" series on display.
From 3pm on the first day, May 1st, a snack bar called "Akahime" will open, run by AKAAKA Art Publishing representative Nozomi Himeno and photographers Yu Yamauchi and Keiko Nomura.
Buying a book at a bookstore. It's a commonplace thing, but in today's world it may be something special. Pick up a photo book, look at it carefully, buy it if you like it, and then talk to someone about it. The chain of enjoyment spreads from here.
