■ "Busy Living" by Coco Capitán

A collection of works by Spanish photographer and artist Coco Capitán. Coco Capitan, born in 1992, rose to fame in the fashion industry when she was selected by Alessandro Michele as a collaborator for Gucci's Fall/Winter 2017-2018 season. This work, which is hard to imagine given her age, showcases the artist's ever-changing, kaleidoscopic style, and is filled with a freedom and openness that belies her years of experience.

From playful settings that defy the conventions of fashion and commercial photography, to elegant depictions of Olympic swimmers and personal memoirs told through a journey through the United States and China, this book truly embodies the "busy living" of the artist, experiencing, absorbing, and reflecting on a rapidly changing modern world. His work is not a static expression.

Alongside his stylized and acclaimed photographs, this book also includes writings, paintings, and installations born out of the artist's attempt to decipher the codes that surround us today. These works, at times personal, at other times grandiose declarations filled with almost self-deprecating humor, confirm the artist's passion and wonder, as well as his healthy dose of irony and wit.

This book was published in conjunction with an exhibition at the Maison Européen de la Photography (MEP) in France, running from March 6 to May 25, 2019. Simon Baker, the museum's director, contributed an essay.
