At Hajimari Cafe on the 7th floor of the main building of Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store, we are hosting "Bon Voyage! French Art Reflecting the Era," an exhibition and sale of artwork that brings French life closer to home, set in a shop modeled after a Parisian café. The exhibition will run from October 10th to 22nd.

The artworks on display and for sale primarily date from the 1920s to the 1950s, known as the golden age of French fashion. The collection includes lithographs and posters by René Gruau, whose numerous works inspired fashion and trends of the time. There will also be a special exhibit of the original catalog from the "René Gruau Exhibition" held at Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store 20 years ago.
In addition to works by René Gruau, we will also be selling framed original magazine advertisements from the 1920s to the 1950s, DVDs of French films, and books related to France.
