Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh™ announces new collaboration with Nike for Spring/Summer 2019 Women's Collection

Oct 2, 2018

On September 27th, OFF-WHITE c/o VIRGIL ABLOH™ held its Spring/Summer 2019 women's collection show at a garage near Republic Square. Virgil Abloh, who has previously experimented with fusing American street style with luxury, took on the challenge of mixing performance wear with luxury this season, inspired by his work on Serena Williams's outfits at the US Open. He presented sporty couture under the theme of "Track & Field." A lacey knit dress with mesh detailing was paired with a see-through tank top, a collaboration with Nike for the new women's collection, creating a look that combined innerwear with outerwear. The puff-sleeved English lace dress was coordinated with performance wear underneath, with the intention of the model taking it off and running in it.

Couture-inspired looks such as a leotard and tulle ball dress, and a boned skirt and knit shirt set were eye-catching, but the beautiful tailoring, such as the cotton linen jacket, also impressed upon the viewer with the solid technical capabilities that form the foundation of the brand.
