A selection of the well-received exhibits from KYOTOGRAPHIE, the Kyoto International Photography Festival 2018, held in Kyoto, one of the world's leading cultural cities, will be exhibited as a traveling exhibition at various locations around Tokyo from October 26th to December 25th as TOKYOGRAPHIE.

The 2018 theme is "UP," showcasing new works by cutting-edge artists from Japan and abroad, as well as rare collections. As part of the opening program, an exhibition featuring works by Masahisa Fukase, Michiko Hayashi, and Kensaku Seki will be held at FUJIFILM SQUARE. "Full-Color Play," an exhibition of works by Masahisa Fukase, who passed away in 2012, will reconstruct Fukase's first Japanese retrospective, "Play," held as one of the main programs of "KYOTOGRAPHIE 2018," under the concept of color photography. Michiko Hayashi will exhibit "Hodophylax: Guardians of the Road," a tranquil yet immersive work that attempts to visualize wolf-related folktales and legends. Kensaku Seki will exhibit "GOKAB: Young Bhutanese People Enthralled by Hip-Hop." The subjects' own graffiti is added to these powerful photographs, revealing the inner lives of young people, including their hidden struggles and emotional turmoil. Also, "Where is UP? Which way is Up?", an exhibition of prize-winning works from the "Children's Photography Contest 2018," which was well-received during "KYOTOGRAPHIE 2018," will travel to FUJIFILM SQUARE.

Based in Paris and Arles, France, Ono Tadashi is exhibiting a sequel to a series he photographed in the disaster-stricken areas in 2011-2012, taking new photographs in the summer of 2017. In "Drowning World," a series of works capturing the experiences of people faced with flood disasters that transcend national and cultural barriers, Gideon Mendel questions the dangers that global warming poses to the world and the blind belief that the world will remain unchanged. Chinese contemporary artist Liu Bolin, known as the "invisible man," has presented photographs in which he body paints himself and blends into urban landscapes, and will exhibit his latest work, "Liu Bolin x Ruinart," a collaboration with Ruinart, the world's oldest champagne house.

Gu Jianling, winner of the Grand Prize in the KG+ Award competition, organized by KG+, a satellite event of KYOTOGRAPHIE 2018, is presenting "Utopia," an exhibition of his award-winning works on the theme of modern-day utopia. Jean-Paul Goude, a renowned image maker active in a wide range of fields including photographer, graphic designer, art director, and film director, will present "In Goude we trust!", a two-part exhibition featuring highlights from his collaboration with Chanel and some of Goude's most personal artwork. Izumi Miyazaki, a rising star born in 1994 and gaining popularity overseas, will present new works and "UP to ME," a collection of works that encapsulate her unique worldview. A BMW i3 wrapped car featuring Miyazaki's work will also be on display. Various public programs, always popular with visitors, will also be held. This exhibition will feature interactive events for visitors, including talk sessions and artist talks with the exhibiting photographers.
