The exhibition "Dainipponichi" is currently being held at Warehouse Terrada, sponsored by Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten and bringing together 46 craft manufacturers from all over Japan.

Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten, a long-established shop in Nara, is holding "Dainipponichi," a joint exhibition of craft manufacturers from all over Japan, for three days from August 29th to 31st at Warehouse Terrada B&C HALL in Tennozu Isle, Tokyo.

With the vision of "revitalizing Japanese crafts," Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten has expanded its business to include 51 directly managed stores nationwide and consulting and distribution support. The exhibition was launched with the aim of providing craft manufacturers from all over the country with a forum for business negotiations with retail buyers, thereby significantly expanding their sales channels and helping them grow into leading brands in the production areas.

The event expanded in scale as a joint exhibition in February this year, and attracted approximately 2,000 visitors at the last event. The concept was "Come out, the brightest star of the production areas. A gateway for craftsmen." This will be the second time the event has been held, and will bring together a total of 46 brands related to "crafts for clothing, food, and housing" from Iwate in the north to Miyazaki in the south.

"Bocchi"
Exhibitors will include "Shirata Cashmere," a type of craft "clothing" that is knitted by skilled artisans at the company's own factory in Kami-machi, Miyagi Prefecture, and characterized by the soft and gentle feel that can only be achieved through handwork; and "Nishikawa Shouroku Shoten," a long-established store in Omihachiman, Shiga Prefecture, which has been in business for 400 years and offers products that adapt traditional techniques to modern life, with a focus on "fans" that add a playful "sense." In the "Food in Crafts" section, 10 food manufacturers that are promoting craft production areas will be appearing, including "DYK," a kitchen tool brand created using the sophisticated techniques and philosophy cultivated through the manufacture of carpentry tools, and "Bocchi," a smooth peanut paste made from peanuts carefully grown on the Boso Peninsula in Chiba Prefecture.

Kungyokudo

The "Living Space" of Crafts will feature exhibits such as "Hanamitsuri," a Nagano Prefecture skincare brand that starts with soil preparation, grows with organic fertilizer, and uses domestically grown chamomile, maintaining a manufacturing method that is gentle on both skin and the environment; and "Kungyokudo," Japan's oldest incense supplier, founded in 1595 in front of Kyoto's Nishi Honganji Temple during the Azuchi-Momoyama period, which offers soaps, potpourri, and other scents that are suited to modern lifestyles.

The exhibition will also feature demonstrations by makers and hospitality with local sweets from each region, so why not experience an encounter with Japanese craftsmanship as if touring various production areas across the country?
