The Hobonichi Techo, used by 780,000 people worldwide, has announced its 2019 lineup. It will be available on the Hobonichi Techo official website and at participating retailers like Loft starting September 1st.

The Hobonichi Techo was launched in 2001 as an original product for the website "Hobonichi Itoi Shimbun." Its user base has grown every year, with 780,000 copies sold in the 2018 edition. The 2019 edition, marking the 18th anniversary of its launch, features the latest lineup of planners, planner covers, and stationery, including the "Large Hobonichi 5-Year Planner," which is twice the size of last year's popular "Hobonichi 5-Year Planner."

Collaboration series with "Doraemon"
"Doraemon," a masterpiece Japanese manga beloved by everyone, from adults to children, is now available in the Hobonichi Techo. The lineup includes "I'm Doraemon," featuring a large print of a smiling Doraemon drawn in oil paint, and "Nobita and Shizuka," featuring frames from the "Doraemon" manga. The weekly "weeks" type, "Honwaka Pappa Doraemon," features plenty of charming Doraemon drawn in silver ink on a light blue background. This special series, which allows you to feel closer to the world of Doraemon every day, will be released in October.

Collaboration series with Steiff
This marks the second year of collaboration with German stuffed toy manufacturer Steiff. The teddy bear-like cover, "Café au Lait Teddy," is made from the same 100% mohair fabric as Steiff bears, and is characterized by its beautiful luster and rich texture. The tri-fold "weeks" cover, "Wallet Teddy," is covered in fluffy fur and, as its name suggests, is designed to be used as a wallet, with plenty of pockets for coins, bills, and cards. The "Yosoiki Teddy" Weeks notebook features teddy bear faces nestled among regimental stripes, creating a charming design that combines traditional style with a touch of cuteness. Other items include a "Teddy Bear Yosoiki Necktie" and a "Teddy Bear Key Ring." The Hobonichi Techo planner will be available on the official Hobonichi Techo website in September and at Loft and other retailers in October.

From top left: "piece," "soda water," "sora check," and "ringo."
The planner also collaborates with minä perhonen, a brand that creates clothing from the ground up. The 2019 edition will feature 10 collaborative covers. The long-awaited first appearance of the "weeks" covers comes in two types: "ringo," featuring a beautiful, delicately embroidered apple tree and a small bird perched on the tree, and "piece," a patchwork cover that will be sold by lottery. "piece," is a one-of-a-kind cover made by piecing together leftover fabric from tailoring clothes. Other covers include "sora check," a textile inspired by the checks created by the intersection of sky and clouds, and "soda water," which at first glance looks like polka dots, but each circle overlaps slightly.

From the left: "Alphabet Maze," "Circus," and "Lots of Games."
From the picture book "Challenge Mikke!", where children find objects hidden in photographs, comes a design printed with photos that are perfect for the Hobonichi Techo. The "Circus" design in the "Original" series features photos themed around a glamorous circus stage, while the "Alphabet Maze" design in the "Cousin" series features a selection of photos of cubes with the alphabet written on them. The "Lots of Games" design in the "Weeks" series features games that are loved by many people. The planner also includes "Puzzle Words" cards with text by author Walter Wick and translated into Japanese by Shigesato Itoi, allowing you to play "Mikke!" anywhere. This planner is perfect for communication between parents and children, or with friends. Other items include the "Sneakers" limited-edition design for the "Weeks MEGA," which triples the number of grid pages at the end of the "Weeks" to 213; the popular annual "MOTHER 2" series; two planner covers inspired by Hobonichi content; designs in collaboration with artists such as Tadanori Yokoo and picture book author Ryoji Arai; and a design featuring Shigesato Itoi's beloved dog, Bouillon. The lineup is so diverse, you'll likely be spoiled for choice. A "Simplified Chinese" version of the Hobonichi Techo will also be available exclusively in China.

Original Stationery "Anything Pocket"
Attractive items have been added to Hobonichi's original "TOOLS & TOYS" stationery line, which can be used in conjunction with the Hobonichi Techo. Many stationery items will be available, including "Anything Pocket," adhesive film envelopes that can be stuck to the pages of the Hobonichi Techo to act as pockets, "Hobonichi Index Stickers," index stickers that make it easier to open the planner, and "Hobonichi Techo Stamps," stamps in the shape of the Hobonichi Techo.

The Hobonichi Techo official website will be selling the items on September 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. For changes to sales methods, please check the official website (https://www.1101.com/store/techo/ja/magazine/2019/yokoku/2018-08-01.html).
