California Disney's 60th Anniversary Event "Diamond Celebration" Begins

May 23, 2015

Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, celebrated its 60th anniversary this July with the launch of its special "Diamond Celebration" event on May 22nd (local time). The kickoff party, held at 6:00 AM on the first day, attracted many guests from Japan and abroad, who celebrated the memorable moment with characters like Mickey Mouse and Pluto dressed in special 60th-anniversary costumes. Guests who had been waiting in long lines since the day before were given special hats on a first-come, first-served basis, creating a celebratory atmosphere. Fireworks signaled the start of the event at exactly 6:00 AM, and guests entered the park en masse, cheering with excitement. Diamond Celebration featured three new nighttime entertainment programs showcasing the latest advancements in Disney's creativity and technology. At Disneyland Park, you can enjoy "Paint the Night," Disney's first all-LED parade, featuring over 1.5 million LED lights, and "Disneyland Forever," an entertainment show that recreates the world of Disney films using projection mapping and spectacular fireworks. Meanwhile, at Disney California Adventure Park, "World of Color," a water show featuring spectacular images projected from one of the world's largest water screens, has been redesigned for its 60th anniversary. Each theme park offers unique nighttime spectaculars. Other exclusive entertainment experiences include special versions of "Sleeping Beauty Castle" and "Carthay Circle Theater." Disneyland Park, the first on Earth, opened in 1955. It can be said to be the birthplace of Disney parks, conceived and directed by Walt Disney himself. Comprising two parks, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, three directly managed hotels, shops and restaurants, a live music venue, and more, Downtown Disney is a huge resort that attracts many guests from all over the world.

Los Angeles Airport, the closest airport to the resort, is easily accessible, taking just 10 hours by direct flight from Japan. Take advantage of your summer vacation to experience Diamond Celebration, a spectacular entertainment experience that can only be experienced now.
