The third collection from Moncler's new project, "Moncler Genius," by menswear designer Craig Green, "5 Moncler Craig Green," will go on sale on August 22nd.
This collection focuses on human nature, such as protection and the functionality of the body. Craig, a rationalist, crafted matte nylon and cotton down to create sculptural, expansive shapes composed of three-dimensional elements centered on functionality. Innovative details, reminiscent of down-filled life jackets and lifeboats, perfectly rewrite the dialogue between clothing and the body.
Each piece is massive yet airy, elevating padding to the ultimate level. The quest for protection is further elevated with a contemporary soft hood covering the face. Self-sufficient in harsh environments, the garments resemble living spaces, symbolizing and expanding on their unique functional elements.
A pioneer in creating a futuristic vision that puts humans at the center, Craig presents a revolutionary collection with an uncompromising color palette of white, black, and midnight blue. Pinstripes with black stitching add a graphic element to the functional collection.
"I explore protection and functionality through my clothing, which is central to Moncler's heritage. I felt that interpreting Moncler's history and accumulated knowledge and techniques would allow me to create innovative and completely new designs," says Craig.
