Aoyama Farmers Market opens in Kanda Otemachi! Midsummer night market "Raw Tokyo" also available

Jul 25, 2018
The Farmer's Market, held every weekend at the United Nations University in Aoyama, Tokyo, moves to the eastern side of Tokyo at Kanda-Otemachi in late July and early August. Titled "Farmer's Market/Night Market at Kanda-Otemachi," it will be held on July 25th and 26th, and August 2nd and 3rd.

The area stretching from Kanda to Otemachi, where the event aims to become an urban utopia, has been home to riverbanks and markets since the Edo period and was once a center of cultural exchange. Nigiri sushi, a staple of Japanese cuisine, is a street food that originated from food stalls around this time. Today, this neighborhood is home to a diverse array of cultures and information, including not only food culture but also secondhand books, music, finance, IT, and even outdoor activities. "By connecting these elements, we hope to create a community for the future," says the organizers, who are holding a farmers' market and night market as a social experiment.

Delicious food and great music. Over four days, up to 60 vendors will gather, offering vintage clothing and miscellaneous goods curated by Raw Tokyo, free vegetables from the farmers' market, and more, in a friendly atmosphere, we propose a four-day event where you can discover the future of the city.
