Dior's new "SADDLE" bag from the Fall/Winter 2018 collection launched globally on July 19th.

Five decades after 1968, a time of bursts of creativity that transformed the rules of fashion, Maria Grazia Chiuri is reviving an attitude that embodies a quest for authenticity and freedom from codes. The bags, in particular, are inspired by both the era's desire for freedom and the house's heritage. The iconic "Saddle" bag first appeared in the Spring/Summer 2000 ready-to-wear collection and was designed in 1999 by John Galliano, who was artistic director at the time. Inspired by the world of equestrianism, the design features a saddle shape adorned with a gold "D". Since its launch, it has shone on the global stage alongside famous artists and stars, including Beyoncé, Elle Macpherson, and Sarah Jessica Parker from the TV drama "Sex and the City", and has quickly become a "legendary bag".

The reimagined "Saddle Bag" is now available in two sizes: medium and mini. The lineup includes a monochrome leather model, the iconic "Dior Oblique" canvas model, a 1970s-inspired patchwork with the message "PEACE AND LOVE DIOR," and a model featuring nine intricate hand-embroidered details based on a vibrant, contrasting design.
The ethnic shoulder strap (starting at ¥180,000) studded with fringe and metal pieces creates a sense of freedom and unwavering style when worn cross-body.
