ATELIERKOHNO, a studio that creates pop and kitschy costumes and objects, will be holding their first solo exhibition in Tokyo, ATELIERKOHNO EXHIBITION 5 "HELLO TOKYO", at Omotesando ROCKET in Shibuya Ward from July 6th to July 11th.

Atelier Kono is based in Osaka and creates objects and costumes made from multiple layers of paper, and their works have been used in magazines, commercials and store interiors.

These objects, enlarged from their actual size, appear in a fictional setting, inspired by the artist's imagination. These include bonsai trees, bacon, snack wrappers, tubes, and fried eggs. Just by being in the same space as the viewer, they create a sense of everyday life that feels slightly out of place in the real world.

Atelier Kouno has held solo exhibitions mainly in the Kansai region, and this is their first time in Tokyo.

In addition to displaying and selling objects of various sizes (starting at 10,000 yen), this exhibition also sells accessories such as earrings and badges (starting at 4,000 yen). Visitors can also have their photos taken wearing paper costumes, wigs, animal ears, and other props.

Why not experience Atelier Kohno's creations by looking at and touching the works in a space filled with mysterious objects that seem real yet are not?
