Uniqlo x Ines de la Fressange unveils new items for Fall/Winter 2018-19, including kids' items

Jul 10, 2018
The 2018-19 Fall/Winter collection, a collaboration between UNIQLO and Inès de la Fressange, will go on sale on August 31st. A press preview was held ahead of the launch, showcasing all items. This season, marking the brand's 10th season, marks the debut of a kids' line.

This season's theme is Montmartre, the cultural center of Paris in the 1920s. Many artists once gathered in Montmartre, giving birth to a wide range of cultures. Inspired by the free and vibrant cityscape and the daily lives of its residents, Inès offers a new interpretation of Parisian style from the good old days, creating a "neo-French chic" collection. The collection expresses the classic image of the 1920s with items that incorporate the mannish style popular in the 1920s and this season's theme color, beige.

While classic items such as round-collar denim jackets and plain cashmere knits are available, suits exuding a fresh, powerful elegance that is symbolic of the 1920s will also be introduced, and another point to note this year is the expanded lineup of coats. In addition to tweed double chester coats and duffle coats, the collection will also feature new items this season, such as quilted coats. Length is also one of the features this season, with coats and dresses being slightly longer than those from last season, resulting in a classic yet trendy design. Also available this season will be playful items such as striped cashmere knitwear, which will be available for the first time, and vintage-inspired motorcycle sweaters, as well as the pajama line that was well-received last season.

The newly launched kids' line is a long-awaited project that Ines had envisioned since the collaboration's debut. The kids' line is characterized by its excellent tailoring, as if the women's clothes were made smaller, with the same materials and designs. All items except for skirts and dresses are unisex. One of the charms of the line is that mother and daughter can enjoy matching French chic wardrobes.

There are 78 items in total, including 61 women's styles and 17 children's styles.
