The event, themed "Coolness of a Japanese Summer," offers a space where visitors can experience summertime traditions like fireworks, footbaths, and wind chimes in a uniquely urban setting. The main event, a digital art space called "Light and Fog Digital Art Garden," will be set up on the lawn plaza. At night, the garden and veranda are enveloped in mist, and colorful lights reminiscent of fireworks are cast from the rocks scattered throughout the garden. The event is being produced by visual design studio "WOW," which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year.

The 9th annual "ASHIMIZU" event will also be held at the same time. Dip your feet in the stream that flows through Midtown Garden, enjoy the cool shade of the round windows made of washi paper during the day, and enjoy the fantastical, coolly lit-up space at night. Experience the "cool Japanese evening" right in the heart of the city.

Also, the annual wind chime-themed object will be making its return this year. This year's exhibition, the seventh in its series, is the work of art director Yuto Tamura, winner of the 2017 Tokyo Midtown Award, a design and art competition hosted by Tokyo Midtown. Inspired by traditional Japanese blinds, the piece creates a space that allows you to feel the breeze with all five senses, creating a cool space both visually and sound-wise. Also on display will be a variety of wind chimes from across Japan, including Edo-style and Nanbu-style wind chimes.
