The large-scale cat-themed photo exhibition "Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Cat Photo Exhibition 2018," which attracted a total of 14,000 visitors in 2015 and 2016, will be held on the second floor of Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse No. 1 from July 11th to 17th.


This is the largest cat photo exhibition ever, bringing together approximately 500 works capturing the timeless and fascinated subject of cats across a variety of themes. Since its debut in 2015, this legendary cat photo exhibition, which drew a total of approximately 14,000 visitors over two weeks and garnered acclaim from across the globe, is returning to Yokohama in midsummer. With each passing year, the number of exhibitors increases, producing some of the most talked-about cat photographers, and becoming a gateway to success in the world of cat photography. This third edition, overseen by art director Kan Mimura, who has directed numerous photo exhibitions, is sure to garner significant attention not only from cat lovers but also from the photography industry. This year's exhibition will feature large-format exhibits featuring works by a diverse range of professionals, from top winners of a year-long Facebook competition to up-and-coming amateur cat photographers and international photographers. Additionally, the exhibition will feature commissions from some of today's most acclaimed professional photographers, each with a focus on the keyword "cat." This unique collection of works by renowned photographers is a must-see for photography enthusiasts. Additionally, the exhibition will feature a variety of collaborative projects with various media outlets and companies, showcasing over 500 expressive cat photographs, ranging from art, documentaries, and heartwarming cat character photography.  


In addition, the exhibition will feature popular cats, such as outdoor cats captured by Masayuki Oki, known for his Instagram following of over 80,000 and author of "Desperate Cats," and the "Oden Quartet" of indoor cats captured by MARCO, an office worker whose unique perspective is rapidly gaining popularity. The photos are packed with hilarious moments of cats becoming absorbed in something. It's fun to compare indoor cats and outdoor cats to see which one is more desperate!

Exhibitors will be selling cat photography-related merchandise in a portion of the exhibition space, and talk shows will also be held, mainly on weekends. In addition, exhibitors have created original premium photo books specifically for this event.
