Photographer Mikio Hasui's exhibition "Paintings of Light" will be held from April 28th to May 20th at BOOK AND SONS, a second-hand bookstore located near Gakugeidaigaku Station in Meguro, Tokyo.


After gaining experience in the design world as an art director, Hasui embarked on a career in photography, where he continues to remain active at the forefront of his field. His photographs exude refined beauty and a quiet, undeniable power, as if gently speaking to the viewer.

In his comment about the exhibition, Hasui wrote, "Pictures of Light. Photographs record some kind of light when the shutter is opened, without relying on the photographer's will. It is this world of photography that transcends my will that stimulates my curiosity. And so begins my play. The play of light is endlessly profound and delightful."


In addition to "Pictures of Light," an abstract work capturing the light filtering into a room through blinds, this exhibition features a random display of works taken over the past decade or so across the first and second floors.
