Opening Ceremony held its Spring 2018 runway show, titled "The Happiest Show on Earth," at Disneyland in Anaheim, California on March 8th.

The runway show was held in California, the home of the brand, its founders Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, and Disney, the place that embodies fantasy and imagination. Opening Ceremony and Disney announced a brand new collaboration called "Mickey the True Original," a global celebration of Mickey's heritage, personality, and status as a pop culture icon.
In addition, Opening Ceremony's Spring 2018 collection, inspired by Mickey Mouse, who celebrates his 90th birthday this year, was unveiled. The collection modernizes classic Disney icons and features items for men, women, and unisex.

The womenswear collection features reinterpretations of vintage Mickey Mouse illustrations, with the playful character printed in whimsical styles on silk dresses, taffeta pants, and poplin gowns. Other pieces that make use of Mickey's iconic silhouette include a jacquard skirt adorned with Mickey-inspired black and white sequins, a dress with rounded sleeves reminiscent of Mickey's famous ears, and denim pants and jackets that are reinterpreted as Disneyland souvenirs from the past, embroidered with the name of the town and the OC logo.
Men's and unisex items include nylon tracksuits, twill carpenter pants featuring graffiti-style Mickey, and varsity jackets adorned with Disney and OC patches.
"Mickey the True Original" will continue through collaborations with other brands and events that incorporate Mickey's past, present, and future influences. Stay tuned for more information throughout the year.
