In this 11th installment of the [Music Journey—How to Use Spotify] series, we'll introduce Spotify's "Lyrics Display Feature."

When listening to music, you might find yourself wondering about the lyrics. Spotify has a feature that displays the lyrics of the song you're currently listening to.
Not all songs support lyrics display, but when you want to know the lyrics of a song, it can be a hassle to look them up when listening to a streamed or distributed music product, unlike a CD, so this is a great feature.

How to Display Lyrics

Desktop

Play a song and click the microphone icon in the lower right corner. You can also change the background (wallpaper) of the lyrics screen by clicking Options. You can also select from videos and still images.

Smartphone and tablet

Tap "Lyrics" on the left side of the playbar at the bottom of the screen.

When on the playback screen, swipe up or down on the cover photo to reveal the lyrics behind the genre. Swipe again to return to normal.

You can also tap "Full Screen" to view the lyrics full-screen.

As you can see, Spotify lets you enjoy music while reading the lyrics. Of course, Western music is also supported. For songs with synchronized lyrics, the lyrics will automatically flow along with the music, so you can practice singing or put it on a big screen and sing along with others like at karaoke.

Reading the lyrics can change the way you hear and feel the song, so be sure to give it a try.
