"Stopover Tokyo," a new facility offering food, fashion, and accommodation, opens in the Bakuroyokoyama and Higashi-Nihonbashi areas

Jan 29, 2018
"Stopover Tokyo," a new style establishment combining food, fashion, and accommodation (vacation rentals), has opened in the Bakuroyokoyama and Higashi-Nihonbashi districts.

The first floor features a stand-up food shop called "coffee & izakaya," allowing customers to drop in casually. From morning to evening, it serves coffee and sweets, with confectioner Yuka Yamamoto offering gentle treats. From dusk to night, Satoshi Katsuse, who also has a shop in Shibuya, will propose a new type of "IZAKAYA."

On the second floor, a select shop and gallery called "gallery-s" will open, inheriting the DNA of "7 Seven," a select shop that has been in business in Daikanyama for 13 years. For half the year, curator Yuji Takenaka will curate art, fashion, and other items that are not limited to any particular genre or gender. Items that can only be found here will be on sale.

Owner and director Akinori Washio, who has traveled to over 100 cities in over 30 countries, offers casual private rooms on the third and fourth floors, targeting the ever-increasing number of travelers to Japan.

You want a place to stay just to sleep while traveling, but you don't want to share your private space like in a budget-conscious guesthouse or share house. This accommodation meets that need, offering a private, urban space at a reasonable price. The space can also be used for exhibitions, galleries, and other events upon request.

Room rates start from 8,000 yen per room per night, with opening special offers starting from 6,000 yen in January and February. The entire building is non-smoking, and the hotel offers free Wi-Fi and luggage storage.
