Dec 17, 2017

Vacheron Constantin is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its arrival in Japan with the release of the "Traditional Japan 100th Anniversary Model," a limited edition of 75 pieces (priced at ¥2,775,000). This model, created to celebrate the brand's relationship with Japan, which began in 1917, features a timeless, classic design that incorporates the iconic details of the "Traditional" collection. While retaining the traditional hallmarks of the collection—such as a round case, stepped bezel, coin-edge patterned caseback, railway minute track, "Baton de Genève"-style gold applied indexes, and dauphine-style hands—this premium piece boasts even more intricate details. The 38mm case is crafted from 18K white gold, and the slate-colored dial, with its delicate hand-guilloched guilloching, exudes a refined aesthetic. This aesthetic radial pattern, showcasing Vacheron Constantin's expert craftsmanship, evokes a sunrise, and features the secret "Japan 100 years limited edition" signature engraved at 12 o'clock. The small seconds hand at 6 o'clock and the simple dial, consisting only of hours and minutes, are enhanced by these understated and delicate decorations, enhancing its elegant beauty.

The mechanical hand-wound movement, engraved with the Geneva Hallmark, was developed, manufactured, and decorated entirely by Vacheron Constantin. The elegant black leather strap is fitted with a polished "half Maltese cross" pin buckle, inspired by the Maison's emblem, the "Maltese cross."

The Traditional Japan 100th Anniversary Model, which embodies the great Geneva watchmaking tradition in the modern era, will be sold at authorized retailers in Japan and the Vacheron Constantin Ginza boutique.
